Series premiere.  Actor and media consultant Neal Hodges and Plain Dealer b=
usiness reporter Marcia Pledger sits down with of some of Karamu House most=
 accomplished artists - ranging from playwrights, actors, musicians, comedi=
ans and set designers - for in-depth, enlightening interviews.  Karamu alum=
nus interviewed in the series premiere include 2007 Karamu Hall of Fame hon=
orees Reuben and Dorothy Silver, poet and California Institute of the Arts =
freshman Chris Webb, veteran Hollywood actor Bill Cobbs and actress and com=
edian Kym Whitley, host of this year's Karamu Hall of Fame gala.

The new series is a spin-off from the annual Karamu Hall of Fame Induction =
ceremony.

Hosted by the Karamu Hall of Fame Induction committee, each episode will be=
 taped before an audience of students and the general public at the famed J=
elliffe Theater at the historic Karamu House, the nation's oldest multicult=
ural arts institution and Black theater.  In addition to his duties as host=
 and executive producer, Hodges produces Reel Deal: A Film Series, a monthl=
y film series which showcases minority independent filmmakers in Northeast =
Ohio and nationally.  Pledger is a business reporter and columnist for the =
Plain Dealer, Ohio's largest daily newspaper.  For the last four years, ent=
repreneurs have shared their stories with Marcia Pledger for her weekly col=
umn, =93My Biggest Mistake... and How I Fixed It=94.  Learn from others=92 =
experiences as she shares her observations about entrepreneurs who have ove=
rcome problems and moved on to achieve success.
