Having known Bill from my very first days in theater with The Group, he
taught me a lot about
1.  theater
2.  character
3.  life
4.  playing it for a laugh
  (uh, that would be BOTH
  'character' and 'life' ! )

And for all that, I am grateful to God for sharing him with me.

As I told Jackie at his wake:

"There's hell to pay in Heaven today,
for there's a new jester in the court.

'You three up front, you can stay where you are.
But the rest of you,
I'm rearranging ALL the chairs.' "
