Workshop Players Theater in Amherst, Ohio, recently participated in the Ohio
Community Theater Association's (or OCTA as it is usually referred to)
state competition.  After sweeping the Regional competition with 9 awards,
the state competition was very successful as well.  This is not the first
time
 WSP has participated at the state level.  This year's state competition was
held in Beechwood, Ohio.


 WSP's excerpt was from the musical, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now
Change." The group consisted of Jayne Bartish-Kacik, Tom Castro,
Judy MacKeigan and Dennis Runkle. The show was directed by Dave MacKeigan,
and  music directed by John Franks. The stage crew was Melissa Lyle and
Karen Reynolds
 and lights were run by Keith Stevens.

The following awards were received by Workshop Players:
 Jayne Bartish-Kacik     EXCELLENCE in Vocal Ensemble
                                   EXCELLENCE in Vocal Performance
Tom Castro                  EXCELLENCE in Vocal Performance
Judy MacKeigan           EXCELLENCE in Vocal Ensemble
Dennis Runkle              EXCELLENCE in Vocal Ensemble
John Franks                 EXCELLENCE in Music Direction

Congratulations to all who were involved!  Thank you to all who had anything
to do in any way with this production.
A hearty congratulations to all who participated in the OCTA state
competition.
