Think it couldn't happen here? In the early years of the 20th century,
authorities were obsessed with the belief that the "racial stock" of
America was in decline. This haunting film tells the story of the
Lynchburg Colony in Virginia, where between 1927 and 1972, over 8,000
children and young teenagers were forcibly sterilized. ACLU Ohio
Executive Director, Christina Link will lead a post-viewing discussion.

Sunday Series: Health of the Nation-How Did Medicine Go So Wrong?

Sunday, October 14

2pm

$15/$8 members--includes admission to Deadly Medicine: Creating the
Master Race

Driven by a racist ideology legitimized by German scientists, the Nazis
attempted to cleanse German society of individuals viewed as threats to
the "health of the nation." Dr. Peter Haas, Abba Hillel Silver Professor
of Jewish Studies and Director of the Samuel Rosenthal Center for Judaic
Studies at Case Western Reserve University, attempts to answer the
question "How did medicine go so wrong?"
