Fishcreek to perform at Beckwith’s Orchard

Folk and bluegrass band Fishcreek is playing at Beckwith’s Orchard and Gift
Shop, 1617 Rockwell Rd., Kent, October 13 and 14, 1:00-3:00pm. So come on
down for a family friendly, foot stomping, apple eating good time. A
four-piece family band, Fishcreek’s vocal harmonies set apart their gospel
numbers and down-home good-time folk as well as originals like Redneck Jedi
and Roundhouse. Father guitarist/vocalist Bruce Taylor, Ph.D., is a
professor of biomedical and electrical engineering. He has been playing folk
music since the late 50’s. As a member of the Cleveland-based trio The
Highlanders, he appeared live on the Mike Douglas Show in 1960. Daughter
vocalist/upright bassist Lynne Taylor is a poet and musician who began
writing her own music at the age of fourteen. Lynne has played
professionally throughout New England and the Midwest. Lynne released
self-produced album, Grace, in 1996. Son, vocalist/banjo, guitarist, Daniel
H. Taylor is a carpenter and actor (Cleveland Public Theatre, Ohio
Shakespeare Festival, Actor’s Summit). He has a memorable deep voice.
Youngest daughter, vocalist Katy (Taylor) Beaucham is completing her
graduate degree in Public Health at OSU while working as a Safety Engineer
in Akron. The traditional sound of Fishcreek reminds us of our history and
the history of Folk Music.
