Other than in an academic setting, what is the point
of performance reviews after an event has closed?
Traditionally reviews are written after an opening
night or press night in advance of a performance or
run. To producers, these are an important contributor
to ticket sales but how does an audience benefit from
a review when their are no tickets to be purchased.

Clearly, there is value to quality criticism where
production nuances may be missed by the audience. This
is often the case where contextual references in
printed program notes leave something to be desired.

I am just curious about others opinions.
