AUDITIONS FOR OPERA CLEVELAND CHORUS AND EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

 

Opera Cleveland and Chorus Master, C. M. Shearer, will hold auditions
for chorus and education programs [paid positions] for its upcoming 2008
season on the following dates and times:

 

Friday, Jan. 11, 4:00 pm-10:00 pm

Saturday, Jan. 12, 10:00 am-9:00 pm

 

Productions and Projects

 

LA BOHEME: The State Theater, Playhouse Square         Performance
Dates: April 18, 20 and 26, 2008

 

Chorus Music Rehearsals: March 19, 7 - 10 PM, March 22, 2 - 5 PM, March
26, 7 - 10 PM, March 28, 7 - 10 PM, and March 29, 2 - 5 PM.


Staging Rehearsals: March 31, 2008 THROUGH April 16, 2008

 

LE NOZZE DI FIGARO: The State Theater, Playhouse Square     Performance
Dates: Sept. 26, 28 and Oct. 4, 2008

 

Chorus Music Rehearsals: Last two weeks of August, TBA

Staging Rehearsals:   September 1, 2008 THROUGH September 24, 2008

 

GREAT WORKS STUDENT PROGRAMS

LA BOHEME, LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, AND HANSEL AND GRETEL

Opera Cleveland Artists perform/teach short programs that prepare
students and teachers for the student matinee they are attending.
Artists must have daytime availability. Rehearsals and performances run
for approximately 4 weeks prior to the final dress rehearsal of each
production. Travel, per diem, and fees are paid.

 

*        Auditions. All interested persons must audition.  Everyone must
sing two contrasting selections of your choice, each of approximately 2
minutes in length, with a least one in Italian. The other selection may
be an opera or oratorio aria, or an art song. An accompanist will be
provided.  

 

*        Location.  Auditions will be held in the Green (east) Rehearsal
Room of the State Theatre at Playhouse Square.  Please enter through the
State Theatre Stage Door, 1650 Chester Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115.  

 

*         Auditions are by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment
or request an application call Opera Cleveland's Production Department
at (216) 575-0903 x 211. Audition Applications can also be downloaded
