WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 12TH FROM 7-9PM Beginning Argentine Tango with Greg Messina and Donna Voller www.Neotango.net Greg Messina & Donna Voller On September 12th,1999 Greg saw Argentine Tango for the first time on the South St. Pier in New York City. It has been a nonstop trip ever since. He now has weekly classes in Kent & Cleveland and has been a guest instructor in Pittsburgh & Erie,PA, Knoxville,Tenn. along with many other venues in North East Ohio. As a Tango DJ he has inspired dancers From Pittsburgh To Lennox, Mass. Joining forces with Greg in 2006, Donna Voller now shares the teaching and performing responsibilities . With her extensive tango library and music sensibilities she has become the most sought after DJ in North East Ohio, playing the music for almost every major Tango event in the area. As Organizers & Performers they have to their credit many workshops and events including: The Ohio Vintage Wine Festival, Akron's First Night, and Cleveland's Sparx in the City. Performances have included Cool Cleveland.com, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Allen Theater, Pittsburgh's International Festival, and The Tango Fire after Party At Sergio's in Shaker. Their teaching is clear and concise, with a touch of humor making their classes fun and informative. Their dancing has a look of it's own. With a blend of Milonguero, Salon & Nuevo styles their Tango has been described as smooth, sensuous, playful and inspiring. Salsa is the modern name for the dance that was originally known as Mambo. It is one of the most popular Latin dances of today and you will surely have a great time learning turn patterns, shines and body movement for this dance. SUNDAY DECEMBERR 16TH FROM 2:30 TO 4:30PM The Roots and Rhythms of American Tap Dance with Margaret Holden From African and Irish beginnings, then adding the German, exploring the rhythmic patterns of the diverse groups who made up our country many years ago, to today's influences of Latin and Jazz rhythms. And we'll note some of the historical names who made tap what it is today.
