OPERA CLEVELAND AUDITIONS FOR LOCAL SINGERS 

Opera Cleveland and new Artistic Director Dean Williamson, will hold
auditions for local singers for main stage productions and outreach
programs for its upcoming 2008 season and future productions on the
following dates and times:

Friday, Feb. 8, 4:00 pm-10:00 pm
Saturday, Feb. 9, 10:00 am-9:00 pm

Productions for 2008 Season

LA BOHEME: The State Theater, Playhouse Square         Performance
Dates: April 18, 20 and 26, 2008
Staging Rehearsals: March 31, 2008 THROUGH April 16, 2008

LE NOZZE DI FIGARO: The State Theater, Playhouse Square     Performance
Dates: Sept. 26, 28 and Oct. 4, 2008
Staging Rehearsals:   September 1, 2008 THROUGH September 24, 2008

HANSEL AND GRETEL: The State Theater, Playhouse Square     Performance
Dates: Oct. 31, Nov. 2 and 8, 2008
Staging Rehearsals:   October 6, 2008 THROUGH Oct. 29, 2008


OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FOLLOWING:

Minor roles: La boheme: Parpignol and Sergente
	        Le Nozze di Figaro: Antonio and Barbarina
	        Hansel and Gretel: Sandman/Dew Fairy

Future Main Stage Productions for 2009 and beyond

Outreach Duet and Ensemble Programs performed at local locations in
Northeast Ohio.


*	Auditions. All interested persons must audition.  Everyone must
sing two contrasting selections of your choice, each of approximately 2
minutes in length, with a least one in Italian. The other selection may
be an opera or oratorio aria, or an art song. An accompanist will be
provided.  

*	Location.  Auditions will be held in the Green (east) Rehearsal
Room of the State Theatre at Playhouse Square.  Please enter through the
State Theatre Stage Door, 1650 Chester Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115.  

*	Auditions are by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment
or request an application call Opera Cleveland's Production Department
at (216) 575-0903 x 211. Audition Applications can also be downloaded
