Job Description:


 *   Area of Certification, or eligible for licensure in the following areas:

040115 Entertainment Marketing


 *   If entering directly from the performing arts industry, the applicant must be able to document 5 years full time recent experience in area of Performing Arts. The applicant must be able to attend the Kent State Teacher Education program to be able to obtain teacher licensure.  Information can be gained at www.ehhs.edu\ctte<http://www.ehhs.edu/ctte> with regard to the Career Technical Teacher Education program.


 *   Our Training Goals include:
*Provide a clearly defined practical education to students in the art of acting, directing and professional theatre and other performing arts.
* Provide an approach to creating which requires the performer to work from a place of truth and action.
* Prepare the performer to be facile in a variety of styles and forms of theatre, dance and music including the classic, modern, and contemporary repertoire.
* Prepare the student for the technical aspects of a theatre production (Lighting, Sets, and Costume)


 *   The applicant should:
*        Be in Good Physical Condition.
*        Be competent in the following areas: Styles and Techniques of Acting, Production Management, Voice & Movement of the Stage, Audition Technique, Shakespeare, Musical Theatre, Acting for the Camera, Directing , Designing lighting and sets for the stage, Stage combat, and Children's Theatre.


 *   Supplemental Contract Requirements:
1.       Prepare for and present at the Excel TECC Opportunity Fair, Thursday, January 31, 2008 from 7:30 am - 3:00 pm, and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Mayfield High School. In case the event is cancelled due to weather it is to be rescheduled for February 4, 2008.
2.       Audition and Interview all potential students for the program with the panel.  Interview Day is scheduled for Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 7:35 am - 3:00 pm at Mayfield High School.  Additional time may need to be scheduled based on the number of applicants.
3.       Compile the Student Roster based on the guaranteed slot formula, and results of the audition/interview process.
4.       Convene and plan the Performing Arts Academy Advisory Committee meeting for March 2008
5.       Write Curriculum for the program and submit for Board Approval by August, 2008.
6.       Schedule guest speakers and prepare lesson plans to be implemented for the 2008-09 school year.
7.       Order supplies, textbooks and equipment needed to start the program in August 2008.
8.       Attend meetings to present information regarding the Performing Arts program    (Strategic Initiative Team, Guidance Counselors, Superintendents)
9.       Other duties as assigned by the Chagrin Falls Administration and Director of Excel TECC.
