America's most incendiary filmmaker, Michael Moore, returned in 2007 with this health-care-industry exposé. SICKO tackles material as controversial as the topics explored in Moore's other films, yet does so in a way that places the focus on ordinary Americans affected by the nation's health-care crisis.

"ALMOST HEAVEN - THE SONGS OF JOHN DENVER"


"ALMOST HEAVEN" - A tribute to John Denver, is a live musical experience that reinvents and reinvigorates the music you thought you knew.  It weaves together 28 of John Denver's most beloved songs to create an event that reflects upon the country during the years in which he wrote them.

TERRANCE SIMIEN & THE ZYDECO EXPERIENCE - live in concert


Simien's illustrious 25-year career has taken him and his Zydeco Experience band to 40 countries. Through nearly 5,000 performances they have reached millions of people at live concerts, on the radio, television, Internet and in feature films.  He has just been nominated for a Grammy for Best Zydeco album - a brand new Grammy category this year! TERRANCE SIMIEN & THE ZYDECO EXPERIENCE qualifies for our new "Take A Chance" ticket program - which means that ½ price tickets ($7.50/each for all ages) - will be available at the Box Office beginning at 6:00pm the day of show!  

 
TERRANCE SIMIEN & THE ZYDECO EXPERIENCE will also be doing a Student Matinee performance of "CREOLE FOR KIDZ & THE HISTORY OF ZYDECO" on Friday, February 8th at 10:00am.  Tickets for the Student Matinee performance are $4.00/each.  Single tickets for this performance will be available at the Box Office either in advance or beginning at 9:00am on Friday 2/8/08.

in the intimate Studio Theatre of Stocker Arts Center - Only 150 seats per performance available!

Singer, songwriter and actress Helen Welch will grace Stocker's Studio Theatre with her glamorous presence and breathtakingly beautiful voice.  A native of England and a veteran of London hot spots like the Savoy and the Ritz, Welch currently makes her home in Northeast Ohio, where she has performed at celebrated area establishments like Nighttown, Playhouse Square's Palace Theatre and Allen Theatre, The Cleveland Play House, Akron's Carousel Dinner Theatre and Blossom.  See her for yourself in a uniquely intimate and romantic setting, perfect for Valentine's Day!

The Lorain County Regional Scholastic Art Exhibit
which opens Sunday, February 3 at 2:00pm and is on exhibit through Sunday, March 2, 2008 
This exhibit encourages and celebrates the creativity of Lorain County's teenagers.  Presented by the Regional Scholastic Advisory Committee, Stocker Arts Center and Nordson Corporation Foundation.

Regular Gallery Hours: Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 2:30pm and during many of the Stocker Arts Center evening and weekend events.  This show will also have special evening and weekend hours.  Please Call 440-366-4140 for additional times or to schedule a special Gallery tour.  The exhibitions and events in the Art Gallery are FREE and open to the public.

Film Admission:
Patrons, except LCCC students/faculty/staff with valid ID, must purchase an annual membership in the LCCC Film Society for $3.00/each, which is good for the entire season (September through April). The admission price for each film is $5.00/ticket with your membership card. 

NEW:  You can now purchase "Any Time Tix" for the films.  You can purchase as many "Any Time" tickets as you think you'll need for the Winter/Spring series and use them at any of the films that will play from now through April 25, 2008.  Buy 16 and use 2 per film for 8 remaining films, or buy 5 and use 1 per film for 5 films -- it's your choice!
