[NEohioPAL] Casting Call for Comedy Short Webisode

Loveman/Sgro Productions, in partnership with Autumn Haze Pictures, is  
casting for a 6-minute comedy short.  This short, possibly the first  
in a series, will be entered in an IFC Channel/Red Bull short film  
contest with the potential to be picked up for 6-8 episodes, in which  
case, there is potential for some compensation and additional work.

This web series is also a prequel of a made-for-cable TV series. We  
will be distributing it online to promote this larger project.  
Participation and compensation for the larger project is also  
possible, but not guaranteed.

About the Short

Julio, a sexy, 20-something, Puerto Rican tattoo artist, works out of  
the basement of his cousin Jose’s barber shop. A large, muscular  
customer comes into the shop to have the tattoo Julio gave him altered  
because it has his girlfriend’s name is in it and he found out she is  
cheating on him. Thing is, she’s downstairs with Julio RIGHT NOW! How  
will Julio save his butt?

Casting The Following Roles:

Julio - 25 year old Puerto Rican tattoo artist with medium to long,  
dark brown or black hair, light to medium skin tone. He is between  
5’6” and 5’10” with a very fit, medium build. We’re looking for  
someone like John Leguizamo, or Johnny Depp with a fair amount of  
Antonio Banderas.

Jose - 28 year old owner of a barber shop, Julio's Cousin.  He is  
Puerto Rican, with dark brown or black hair and light to medium skin  
tone, possibly with some facial hair.  He is at least 5'8" with a fit- 
to-medium build.  A young version of John Turturro perhaps. He is  
constantly in a state of nervousness, talks fast and short in an  
assertive nature.

Big Man - mid-20s to early 30s, medium skintone, blonde or light brown  
hair, pro-football player build, muscular and intimidating. Carries  
himself like Rocky/Sly Stallone or Hulk Hogan or a smaller version of  
The Rock. He’s a former tattoo customer of Julio’s and Julie’s  
boyfriend.

Julie - Early-to-mid 20s, 5’3”-5’10, slender to voluptous, medium-long  
blonde hair, like Drea de Matteo from "The Sopranos" or Marisa Tomei.  
She is Big Man’s girlfriend. She is sexy, soft and very manipulative.

Toni - Barber, Male, early 50s, Joe Pesci with a goatee, short black  
hair with a part or slicked back and a goatee, medium to dark skin  
tone, medium to stocky build, under 5’8”. He’s a scrappy, smart-ass  
with a Napoleon complex.

Gustav - Barber. Male, mid-to-late 20s, Tall and slender, blonde or  
light brown short, straight hair, gay, german like Dolph Lundgren but  
nicer, smiles more and is gay.

Frank - Julio’s lawyer. 40 or older, like John Larroquette (from his  
"Night Court" days), neat, dark hair with salt & pepper, tall and well  
built to fit a business suit. Reserved and business-like.


Time Requirement

Casting Call: Online NOW through February 26th
Callbacks: Sunday, March 2nd, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Rehearsal: Sunday, March 9th-Monday, March 10th, TIME TBD
Shoot Dates: Sunday & Monday, March 16th-17th, All Day or until wrapped

Locations
The location for the callbacks will be at Joe Sgro’s Barbers Shop at  
3237 Warrensville Center Rd, Shaker Heights, OH.

Note: Rehearsals and Shooting will be held at the same location.

IMPORTANT: This film must be completed by March 31st to be entered in  
the contest, and the location is already locked for these days,  
therefore, this schedule is not flexible.  If you are not available  
all of the dates listed above, do not audition.
