Karamu House is proud to present Holes, a stage play adapted by Louis
Sachar, author of the award winning novel by the same name opening night on
Friday, March 14, 2008. When the book, Holes was published in 1998 it won
the Newberry Medal and many other awards. The 2003 popular Walt Disney
motion picture, Holes was also adapted from the novel by Louis Sachar. The
stage play, Holes, directed by Cleveland's Hassan Rogers, follows the life
of young Stanley Yelnats IV, who is sent to a juvenile detention camp in the
Texas desert for allegedly stealing a very expensive pair of sneakers.
There, he and the other detainees are given chores by a Warden, Mrs. Walker,
to dig holes for treasure that was buried years ago by Kissin' Kate Barlow,
a notorious bandit.

Holes is a story about tolerance, friendships, discoveries, legacies,
morality and justice.

This production is a Comedy-Drama Adventure suitable for the entire Family.
Its Director, Hassan Rogers has assembled a talented cast of young actors,
including a group from Kent State University and other local teen talent to
bring this production to life. Make your plans to come and see how Karamu's
