20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

 

Since 1994, Cleveland-based Rare Blend has been blending jazz, fusion,
rock, funk, latin, and progressive styles and genres to create unique
and exciting instrumentals.  Their latest project called "Bridging the
Gap" combines a live musical performance to the screening of a classic
silent film.  Featuring Vic Samalot on guitar, Bobbi Holt on keyboard,
Jeff Scott on bass and Ivan George on drums, Rare Blend will perform
original music and improvisation to the screening of "20,000 Leagues
Under the Sea" at Reserve Hall in Mayfield Village.  

 

When:       Saturday, April 5th from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. 

                Sunday, April 6th from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

                Doors open one hour before show time.

The Jules Verne classic film "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" was hailed
as one of the most technologically advanced films of its time using a
new apparatus for underwater photography.  It is the story of a team of
scientists investigating a series of naval disturbances believed to be
caused by a sea monster.  They soon find that the disturbances are
caused by the Nautilus, a submarine piloted by Captain Nemo, a
hate-driven renegade seaman whose past is eventually revealed and
reconciled.  

 

Mayfield Village has recently completed the renovation of an old church
sanctuary into a state-of-the-art performing arts hall and is pleased to
present this bold sensory experience-timeless visuals combined with
powerful modern instrumentals.
