  AUDITIONS for the NORTH CANTON PLAYHOUSE studio performance
  2008 New Works Festival: From Script to You 
  March 18th and 19th from 7 pm - 10 pm

  *Please note if you cannot attend the auditions, 
  you may schedule a separate audition appointment by calling

  The festival is a collection new 10-Minutes plays to One Acts from across the United States featuring writers from Ohio to California. 
   
  ALL AGES CALLED: Ages 16 and older. 
                                  Seniors needed
                                  African American needed 
   
  REHEARSALS only two to three nights a week, M thru F (no weekends)

  Selected Works Information
  Bigfoot Crossing by Stanley Toledo (California) 
  1 M and 1 F - ages 40 and above
  1 M and 1 F - ages 20 and to 30 
  Comedy. 
  Small town ‘ma and pa’ businesses owners of the Bigfoot Café and Museum, in need of business, entertain an attractive female patron from the big city on the run from her boyfriend, who in the end arrives in his limo to sweep his love of her feet in a manner only the mob can do. 
  Guy and Girl by Adam Sabados (Chicago)
  1 M and 1 F - ages 16 to 30.
  Drama. 
  Separated by a chain on stage, Guy and Girl must learn the balance of themselves in a love relationship for each other. 
  The Intruder by Edward Walsh and Robert Noll (Cleveland)
  1M - age 20 to 30. African American 
  1 M - 40 and above. 
  1 F - age 30 to 40. 
  Drama/Comedy 
  A young black man, Kenny, breaks into the seemingly empty home of an elder man and his care giver, finding only locked doors, mace and no way out.
  Izzie by Stephen Thomas (Canton) 
  1 M - age 16 to 30 
  1 F - age 16 to 30 
  Light Comedy
  Elizabeth vents to her best friend Steve about her recent dating problem: having been given the nick name Izzie, proving to her again that all men are stupid, minus Steve who wants what he can not have - Elizabeth. 
  Pub vs. Church by Seth Thomas (LA)
  1 M and 1 F - ages 20 and above. 
  Comedy. 
  A local church-going woman picketing the local pub is challenged by a local pub-going man picketing the church. 
  The Silent by Joseph Frost (Jackson, MS)
  1 M or 1 F - any age 16 and above. (solo performance) 
  Drama - Performance Text 
  The inter search of the human heart and mind for peace and knowledge in response to inner demons, our doubting trust, and the still small voice that speaks
  
  Samuel Waits by Andrew Gates (Canton)
  2 M/F - any age 16 and above. (cast flexible) 
  Light Drama 
  Samuel, waiting quietly at the bus stop for something big to enter his life (not the bus), meets Scranton, who questions Samuel’s sanity and the ‘why’ and ’how’ of waiting. 
  Tom by Adam Sabados (Chicago)
  1 M - any age above 16. (solo performance)
  Drama 
  Tom reviews with the audience his recently written suicide note, recalling to the moment past experience and his current helpless state of being. 
  
  TBA - One or Two Additional Scripts may be added to take into auditions
  
  COPIES OF SCRIPTS Available at THE NORTH CANTON PLAYHOUSE
  
      Scripts are available in the playhouse office for reading.
  Must be available for performance dates of May 29th, 30th, 31st, June 1st and June 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th 
  A prepared monologue is preferred but not required. There will also be a reading from the scripts.
