Cleveland Public Theatre announces auditions for Goldstar, Ohio

CPT is proud to present the world premiere of Goldstar, Ohio in October,
2008. 'Gold Star' is the title that the military gives a family that has
lost someone in active duty. For over two years, playwright Michael
Tisdale has been interviewing families of Marines who were killed in
Iraq.  Created from the transcripts, Goldstar, Ohio presents the varied
experiences of four Ohio families as they struggle to accept what has
happened and find the strength to carry on with their own, forever
altered, lives.  Written by Cleveland native Michael Tisdale, the
production will be directed by Andy Paris, a member of the Tectonic
Theater Project.

 

Seeking a diverse cast of 8, character ages 20-60. Some roles will be
doubled. 

 

Equity agreements may be considered for this production

 

 

Auditions for this exciting new project will take place at CPT April 5th
through the 7th.  Auditions are by appointment only! Auditions will be
schedule in 15 minute increments. Please prepare a monologue no more
than two minutes in length.  The audition may also consist of cold
readings from the script. Audition appointments are filling fast! You
are encouraged to schedule as soon as possible!

 

The production runs October 16th through November 8th in the Gordon
Square Theatre.

 

Audition times for Goldstar, Ohio are as follows:

Saturday, April 5th: 11:00am - 6:00pm
Sunday, April 6th: 10:00am - 1:00pm
Sunday, April 6th: 5:00pm - 10:00pm

Callbacks will be held on Monday, April 7th from 6:00pm - 10:00pm.
