"RING OF FIRE" and Pete Seeger at

STOCKER ARTS CENTER

NEXT WEEK !

Tuesday night: April 1, 2008 - 7:30pm
"RING OF FIRE: The Music of Johnny Cash"

Is Johnny Cash your favorite singer? Is "Walk The Line" on your top ten
list of best movies ever? If so, you won't want to miss "Ring of Fire:
The Music of Johnny Cash," which makes its Cleveland area debut at the
Stocker Arts Center next Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. The Man in
Black ignites the stage in this new Broadway musical featuring 38
signature songs from the legendary Mr. Cash. Stories of passion,
redemption, humor, and salvation set the stage ablaze in this
celebration of the world's most famous rebel. "Effective, funny and
imaginatively presented" says the New York Post. USA Today said "Some of
the best singing you're likely to hear...FIRE burns brighter, truer and
with more imagination than most."

Tickets for this night of great musical theatre are $34/Orchestra and
$27/Mezzanine. Call the Stocker Box Office at 440.366.4040 or order
online at www.lorainccc.edu/stocker <http://www.lorainccc.edu/stocker>

Friday night: April 4, 2008 - 7:30pm
PETE SEEGER: THE POWER OF SONG

2007 (G) 93 min. USA
Director: Jim Brown
Cast: Pete Seeger, Toshi Seeger, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Bruce
Springsteen, Arlo Guthrie, Mary Travers, etc.

Pete Seeger, one of the greatest American singer/songwriters of the last
century, was the architect of the folk revival, writing some of its best
known songs. Largely misunderstood by his critics, including the US
government, for his views on peace, unionism, civil rights and ecology,
Seeger was targeted by the communist witch hunt of the 1950s and, in
spite of his enormous popularity, banned from American television for
more than 17 years. With a combination of never-before-seen archival
footage and personal films made by Seeger and his wife, this authorized
biography chronicles the life of the legendary artist and political
activist.
