Star Light: A Space Odyssey

April 5; 8 p.m.

Space-themed Scores, Youth Pricing, and Costumed Trekkers Highlight the
Celebration

Chagrin Light Orchestra presents the last concert of its 2007-2008 season,
Star Light: A Space Odyssey, on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 8 p.m, at the
Chagrin Valley Little Theatre. In keeping in the spirit of the space theme,
the concert will feature popular science fiction scores including: Star
Wars: The Empire Strikes Back; E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial; a Star Trek
medley; and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, as well as classical works
including Holst (The Planets) Mars and Strauss Fanfare from Also Sprach
Zarathustra made famous in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Chagrin Light
will also honor Arthur C. Clarke, 20th century visionary, at the concert.
Clarke, who died a few weeks ago, was known for his work in scientific
discovery and science fiction--as well as for penning 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Adding to the festivities will be costumed "Trekkers" from the USS
Challenger Chapter of the International Federation of Trekkers, an
organization founded in Cleveland and committed to celebrating the Star Trek
mythos and community service.

Chagrin Light is offering youth/student concert tickets for $15. Adult
tickets for the concert only are $25. A patron reception, beginning at 7
p.m., includes spirits and appetizers courtesy of Gamekeeper's Taverne,
signature cosmopolitan cocktails featured in the Star Trek franchise, and
concert ticket, and is available for $50.
