[NEohioPAL] Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Perfomances At Villa Angela St. Joe

  The Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School Drama Club will soon be performing “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in three spring theatre performances.  Mark your calendars for three days: April 25th and 26th (each show beginning at 8:00 p.m. ) and April 27th (show begins at 2:00 p.m. ).  Doors will open roughly 30 minutes prior to each performance.  Adults and children of all ages are encouraged to experience this beloved event!    
  The VASJ Drama Program has grown immensely in the past two and a half years, with the extremely successful theatre performances of “Meet Me In St. Louis” and “Grease” playing to rave reviews and packed houses in 2005-2006, “West Side Story” and “A Festival of Shorts” garnering an equally strong showing in 2006-2007, and “Beauty and the Beast” beginning this 2007-2008 school year with a tremendous three-day run.
   
  VASJ is excited about its growing drama program and looks forward to continuing to be a viable entertainment option for not only theatre enthusiasts, but the entire Northeast Ohio community.
   
  Pre-sale admission to this event is $5 per person.  Advanced tickets can be ordered by calling (216) 481-8414 ext. 235 or by downloading the ticket order form on www.vasj.com and mailing it in.  
   
  Admission is $6 per person at the door.  Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
   
  “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” is a children’s play by Richard R. George.   It is adapted from the fantasy by Roald Dahl.  The show centers around an eccentric chocolatier named Willy Wonka and a good-hearted boy named Charlie who comes from a poor family who live near Wonka’s extraordinary factory.   After isolating himself from the world and his own family for years, Wonka launches a worldwide contest to select an heir to his candy empire.  Five lucky children, including Charlie, discover golden tickets in random Wonka chocolate bars and are treated to a guided tour of Wonka’s candy factory of dreams.  Wonka and Charlie soon learn about the extraordinary effect family, candy and imagination have on life.
   
  “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” will take place in VASJ’s Georgian Gym, located at 18491 Lake Shore Boulevard in Cleveland .  All proceeds will benefit the VASJ Drama Department.
