Carnation City Players will hold auditions April 20 at 7:30 for The Civil War. Auditions will be held at the Firehouse Theatre, 450 East Market St. Alliance, Ohio. Composer Frank Wildhorn (creator of Jekyll and Hyde and The Scarlet Pimpernel) brings this new musical of the Civil War to life through contemporary music that incorporates actual letters, diaries, historical documents, and poetry of Walt Whitman. Many excellent singing roles are available for men and women to portray the soldiers, wives, nurses, and slaves. African American actors and singers are encouraged to audition. There are also many chorus roles available.  There are no roles for young people under the age of fifteen. Those auditioning should prepare an audition song to sing -preferably a show tune. Please bring sheet music. No recorded music please. If you wish to be in the chorus only-sign-ups will be at the theatre at 7:00.  Those signing up for chorus will be used on an as needed basis. Show dates are
 June 13-22. The show will be directed by Don McCallister. The musical director is Kim Lewis. Stage manager is Kathy Gray Farthing and choreographer is Missie Smith. For more information, please call the theater office at 330-821-8712.
