(Medina, Ohio- May 16, 2008) – Following the huge success of the first Chalk
Art Festival in 2007, Main Street Medina is planning the 2nd Annual Chalk
Art Festival, scheduled for Saturday, June 7th, 2008 from 9am-5pm. The
festival will be held in the historic business district around the town
square. In addition to the live chalk art demonstrations, there will be live
entertainment, children's activities, a farmer's market, and fun for the
whole family. The event will be held rain or shine.

All chalk art will be created between 9am-3pm, and judging will take place
between 3-5pm. Main Street Medina will provide 4' x 4' boards for
professional and college students, as well as pastels. High School students
will work in pastels around the Square. Prizes and awards will be given to
the top three in each category, Professional, College, and High School.
Professional artists will be eligible to win one of three gift certificates
($100, $75, $50) to local restaurants. College and High School students will
compete for gift certificates from $75 to $25. Following the Festival, the
boards will be displayed in storefronts throughout the Historic District.
The winning artists' work from 2007 was estimated to have a value of
$1,500-2,000.

Applications for professional and college artists are being accepted until
June 2nd, 2008. For more information or for an application, please contact
