Manager, Dance Institute

The University of Akron invites applications for the position of Manager of
its highly acclaimed Dance Institute.  Founded in 1967, the Dance Institute
is a pre-professional preparatory dance program for children ages 4 through
18.  The institute also offers adult classes. The Manager position is
continuing, 12-month, non-tenure-track with full benefits. Required
qualifications: bachelor¹s degree in dance or other appropriate area;
professional experience in dance; experience in dance instruction and
curriculum; experience working with K-12 children; excellent communication
and interpersonal skills.  Preferred qualifications: master¹s degree in
dance or other appropriate area; managerial experience; fund-raising
experience; community outreach experience. Duties: manage and lead the Dance
Institute; supervise Dance Institute faculty and staff; oversee Dance
Institute curriculum; lead Dance Institute fundraising, marketing, outreach,
and recruitment initiatives; teach and participate in the University¹s
degree-granting academic program.  Review of applications begins immediately
