[NEohioPAL] Opera Cleveland Seeks Props Master for Fall 2008

Opera Cleveland is seeking a Prop Master for Le nozze di Figaro and
Hansel and Gretel. This is a contract position that would begin in early
August and end in mid November, 2008. Prop Master is a "hands on"
position requiring creativity, flexibility, and efficiency. The Prop
Master reports to the Director of Production. Requirements include
demonstrated knowledge of backstage organization, and good communication
skills. Duties would include the following: working with designers to
ensure that their designs are accomplished, procuring all props for the
shows, building and upholstering furniture, and maintaining props over
the run of a show. Candidate should have 3+ years working in regional
theater, be very well organized, have strong painting, craft, furniture
building, upholstering skills, and work well with others. 

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

o	Provide all hand props and furniture for each production which
may include building, renting, buying, or borrowing props in a timely
fashion.
o	Work closely with stage management to insure that all approved
notes regarding quantity, functionality, and design of properties are
incorporated for each production.
o	Track all properties drawings and run sheets for productions
rented from other opera companies.  In addition, create properties run
sheets and drawings as it applies to the production as used by Opera
Cleveland.
o	Work within budgetary guidelines and submit all invoices in a
timely fashion to the Director of Production.
o	Attendance at all production meetings, technical rehearsals,
load in, and load out required.
