  Dave Buckman Workshop 
  Dave Buckman, former director of Second City Chicago and Cleveland (as well as many other things mentioned at the bottom of this page), is coming through town and doing a workshop.  It will be a mixed skills class but nothing will be dumbed down.  If you are interested in a diagnosis and suggestions on how to improve your skills, you oughta come.

  Acting for Improvisers
  Mitchell Fields, former Program Director and Head Teacher at Second City Cleveland will lead a workshop focusing on organic behavior, which comes out of character and emphasizes object reality, in order to strengthen a scene by providing alternatives to the "talking Head" Syndrome.

     Dave Buckman  has directed, taught and performed at some of the world’s leading improvisational comedy institutions.  After several years studying and teaching improv in Chicago, Dave served as  Artistic Director of Boom Chicago in Amsterdam for 2 1/2 years, culminating in only the second stage-swap with The Second City’s Main Stage in its 47 year history.  After Europe, Dave worked as a director and teacher at The Second City - Chicago and Cleveland, directing Cleveland’s Main Stage revue, “Who’s yer Baghdadi?”. Since 2005, Dave has been living in Austin, TX with fiancée and Second City Cleveland alum Rachel Madorsky, teaching and performing with their award-winning troupe The Frank Mills. Dave is a member of          the Austin Improv Collective. He performs and teaches regularly at the Hideout and ColdTowne Theaters. Dave has been fortunate to work with and direct some of the funniest people working in television and web-based sketch comedy today.  
      



  Mitchell Fields is a Professor at Baldwin -Wallace College where he teaches Improvisation, Film and Theater. He is also an acting coach in private practice. From 1999 until it closed in 2003, Mitchell was the Program Director and Head Teacher at: Second City Cleveland. Other experiences in teaching include Acting Coach for Something Dada Improvisational Theater Troupe, Acting Instructor for The Cleveland Playhouse, Acting Instructor at Lakeland Community College, Associate Director of The Cleveland Theater Company, Theater Department Chairman and Artistic Director of the Fine Arts Association of Willoughby, Teacher of Dramatic Arts, Film and Speech-Beachwood High School. Certified in English 7 -12, Drama K - 12, and Acting Coach for Giant Portions Improvisational Theater Comedy Troupe. Mitchell has an MA from Columbia University. He is also a professional actor whose credits include hundreds of roles in the theater and several films. He is a member of Actors Equity
 Association and the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists
