convergence-continuum continues its 2008 Season: Cross the
Threshold, at the Liminis theatre with IN THE GARDEN,
by Norman Allen, now onstage at the Liminis theater.

The lives of four urban sophisticates are rocked by their encounters
with Gabe, a beautiful young man who is everything but what he seems:
precocious student? hot pan-sexual rent-boy? selfless weird homeless
kid? or what? With unworldly charisma, Gabe constructs a web of
sensuality, sexual identity, seduction and theology grounded in the
lessons of the New Testament. A professor of philosophy, his
fashionista wife, and their slick young friends try to meet the young
man’s erotic and spiritual challenge, questioning their lives as they
question his very identity. With high comedy and thought-provoking
drama, IN THE GARDEN blends sexual conventions, high fashion,
Nietzsche, and Christ, in a hyper-theatrical rollercoaster ride.
(Please be advised that the play contains mature content.)

Artistic Director Clyde Simon directs the convergence-continuum
ensemble in this nicely off-beat and irreverent dramedy by playwright
Norman Allen that takes a swipe at social, sexual and religious norms
with its complex blending of wit, infidelity and audacious
philosophizing.

The cast includes convergence-continuum regulars Lucy Bredeson-Smith
and Arthur Grothe. Making their first appearances at the Liminis are
actors Laurel Johnson, Vincent Depaul and Tony Thai.

IN THE GARDEN runs at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through
June 28, at the Liminis, 2438 Scranton Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113. Tickets
are $15 general admission, $12 for students and seniors (65+). For
reservations and information call 216-687-0074 or visit
