In funny moving and engaging monologues, three sisters spin the tale of their 
family and of an era. Their father, a carpetbaggers, is a former Union 
solider. He uses his post as county treasurer and tax collector to amass a huge 
fortune. Preserving that plantation becomes a major issue for his daughters. The 
Carpetbagger's Children explores the bonds to the land that has shaped 
identity, influenced their destiny and, like the family itself, undergoes dramatic 
change after The American Civil War.
