Ashland University Theatre has been moving prop furniture storage from a
basement with an elevator to ground level to a third floor room with no
elevator. Consequently, we can't carry everything with us. We have
some larger pieces that we have no home for and would like to offer to
you, the theatre community, for your consideration. All items are being
sold "as is" and all reasonable offers will be considered. You will
need to make pick up arrangements and will need to bring your own truck
and labor force if you would like any of the pieces.
Contact J. R. Simons, Technical Director at this email address or at
jsimons at ashland.edu or call 419-289-5890 to make arrangements to pick
items up. I also have digital photos of these items that I can send you
so you can make a decision before trekking down here.
All items MUST GO. If not to you then, to a dump near us. I'd hate to
see that happen.
Thanks!
J. R. Simons
Here's the list -
1. Baby Grand Piano - no strings attached, only been onstage once
2. 1960s-1980s loveseat couch
3. 1980s heavy 2x6 construction coffee table w/ cushions on each side
4. Flower print 1960s couch with wood frame construction similar to above
5. Cast iron theatre seats, red cushions w/ wood backs, 2 sets of 3 on
skids
6. "Milky White" cow from "Into The Woods", plywood construction on casters
7. 1950s-1960s couch w/ fringe along bottom, needs some spring work
8. Old-fashioned steel stove covering for an in-home gas heater
9. Hexagonal hotel lobby style settee w/ burgundy upholstery and gold
fringe, on casters, very nice shop-built piece
10. 1974 Rowe AMI Stereo 200 jukebox, fully-loaded w/ playback
mechanism and 45s
11. Metal framed 3-person black leather covered bench seat like in a
1960s doctors office
12. 3 metal framed dining room chairs w/ pale green cushions
13. Front end of a boat, used once for "Talley's Folly"
14. a mimeograph machine (remember the smell of dittos?)
15. several portable televisions in various states of repair
16. a rather morbid Victorian-Gothic-style child-sized coffin that
needs a lot of work
17. 1950s-style low dresser (the kind that would have had a large
mirror attached to it)
18. another bedroom dresser
19. a very nice shop-built thing that looks a lot like an oversized
Radio Flyer sled
These are too heavy to carry up three flights of stairs and rather than
abandon them or take them to a dump, we'd like to see them find a good
home at a reasonable price.
