SUMMER INTENSIVE WORKSHOP BEGINS JULY 6 AT TURNING POINTE

 

Challenging classes for serious dancers ages 9 and older will be offered
during a five-week summer intensive workshop July 6 through Aug. 8 at The
Turning Pointe School of Dance, 2387 Locust St. S., Canal Fulton, Ohio. 

Advanced beginner level classes will be July 6-25 and Intermediate I, II and
Advanced will be July 6 through Aug. 8. Classes include ballet, tap, jazz,
musical theatre and more.

            

Students in the summer intensive will be taught by Ohio Youth Ballet
artistic director Natalya Vyashenko-Connor, who is a former company member
of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Opera and Ballet in
the capital of Uzbekistan. 

 

Visiting instructors include Valery Lantratov, who has toured
internationally with Rudolf Nureyev and is artistic director of the Russian
National Ballet Foundation in Moscow. 

Also, former Ohio Youth ballet member and Turning Pointe School of Dance
student Kaleb Baker returns as a guest teacher. Baker has performed with the
Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and joins the Quad City Ballet Company in Rock
Island, Ill. this fall as a company member. He also trained with San
Francisco Ballet, Harid Conservatory, Universal Ballet Academy and Central
Pro Danza in Cuba and has numerous dance awards.
