[NEohioPAL] TrueNorth announces 9 11 fund raiser for Avon Lake High School

TrueNorth Chorale and Symphony, A Time to Remember .
Community Concert of Prayer, Thursday, September 11th  
Avon Lake High School Auditorium, 7:00 p.m.
 
TrueNorth will be producing a concert featuring its Chorale and Symphony
on Thursday, September 11th, 7:00 p.m. at the Avon Lake High School.
Its purpose is to remember, renew and ultimately encourage and rejoice
in the freedom we share.  The concert will be a fund-raiser and a time
of raising awareness as the Garden of Empowerment at the High School is
unveiled and celebrated.  Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna, portions of
Rene Clausen's Memorial and Mack Wilberg's Four American Folk Hymns will
be performed. 
 
Avon Lake Key Club and the Avon Lake Kiwanis are proud to sponsor a
permanent 9/11 memorial at Avon Lake High School.  The main objective of
the project is to transform the courtyard into an area that will serve
as a memorial garden for the 9/11 heroes. The artists involved with this
project are Steve Jordan and Cis Ricchiuto - architect Cary Reynolds. 
 
Imagine an area that will serve as a beacon, an area that is surrounded
by history classes and as students learn about the past they can look
out at the courtyard that memorializes the American spirit of hope &
determination, a true Garden of Empowerment. It will also serve as an
outdoor classroom and a place to contemplate and reflect on who we are
and what we lost on that fateful day. At night when people are driving
down route 83 there will be light emanating from the courtyard toward
heaven, symbolizing the hope that our students represent for the future.
Its major fundraiser will be a memorial concert that will take place
September 11th, 2008, through TrueNorth Cultural Arts.  A fund-raising
dinner will take place before the concert for those who would like to
attend.   Tickets for the Dinner and Concert together are $25.00; dinner
begins at 6:00 p.m., and can be purchased at the high school or by
calling Gjergj Haxhiu, Avon Lake Key Club Advisor, 216.375.4835.
