Actors' Summit Theater Announces

Open Auditions for

Three Shows

Actors' Summit announces open auditions for the musicals Main-Travelled
Roads, and A Sanders Family Christmas, as well as for Spoon River
Anthology, a play with music. Auditions will be held at Actors' Summit's
theater, 86 Owen Brown Street, in Hudson. Auditions will be by
appointment on Tuesday, July 22, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

Both Equity and non-equity actors are encouraged to audition.

Main-Travelled Roads will be given its Ohio premiere as the opening show
of the season. The play, based on the stories of Hamlin Garland, with
music by Paul Libman, and book and lyrics by Dave Hudson will be
directed by Sasha Thackaberry, with musical direction by Evie Morris.
Main-Travelled Roads will perform September 18 - October 5.

A Sanders Family Christmas, the sequel to Smoke on the Mountain, is a
holiday musical with strong folk and blue-grass roots. The show will
perform December 4 through December 21.

Spoon River Anthology, based on the poetry of Edgar Lee Masters, is also
heavily dependent on American Folk Music. Spoon River Anthology will be
performed March 12 - March 29, 2009.

A Sanders Family Christmas and Spoon River Anthology will be directed by
MaryJo Alexander, the Co-Artistic director of Actors' Summit.

Auditioners should come prepared to sing a song of their choosing from
the American folk genre. An accompanist will be available. The directors
are particularly interested in seeing actor / singers who also play
musical instruments.

Auditioners will also be asked to read from one or more of the scripts.
Additional information is available on the Actors' Summit website.
