[NEohioPAL] Paid Gig: LCCC College Tech Prep Looking for Actor for Role of Gladiator "Algebra II"

LCCC College Tech Prep Consortium is looking for a strong, dependable
actor to take on the role of the gladiator, "Algebra II".

 

To search your community theater contacts: the dates confirmed so far
are Tuesday, November 11 at the Lorain County JVS and Monday, November
17 at Spitzer Conference Center. The last session is probably going to
be on November 13, 19 or 20 at Clearview HS in Lorain, OH. 

 

Times for the formal presentations are both 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Character
will need to arrive approx. 45 minutes before presentation; cannot be
seen by audience prior to event so will have to dress there. 

 

We need someone aged 18-30 something who can "carry" the costume; have
assertive/commanding presence; can ad-lib when needed. May be asked to
sign autographs/take pictures by audience members.  The name of the
gladiator character is "Algebra II".  We may need to write equations on
his body with washable ink. Audience is grades 7-10 and parents.
Attendances at these have ranged from 15 to 50; more expected this year.


 

Duties will be to present information about "How to Go to College" by
working with the moderator.  Presentation will be displayed via Internet
and PowerPoint. A script will be provided for the Gladiator, but again,
adlibbing will be necessary. 

 

Program is focused around the "KnowHow2Go" national, state and local
sites.  You can see the character there. www.knowhow2go.org

watch the commercial (it's great). 

 

The individual will have to come in prior to the presentations to learn
about the program and to go over the scripts. Pay rate will be $10 per
hour for presentations and training, which includes transportation
mileage. Hopefully, we can find someone more interested in helping kids
than the pay.
