It's been raining CATS & DOGS in Akron this summer! With all of those puppies and kitties wandering around, Weathervane decided to gather them up and do what we do best - we're putting TWO shows on, back to back: 

Go, Dog. Go!

Adapted from the book by P.D. Eastman

P.D. Eastman's classic children's book comes to life on stage in an exploration of movement, color and space. The dogs delve into life with gusto, creating a visual spectacle for the audience to feast upon. They snorkel. They howl at the moon. They ride a Ferris Wheel. They sing, dance and climb trees. This is a rollicking free-for-all of chicanine-ery. A big and little musical world of doggy fun. Like a pop-up book that comes to life - and never stops.

Madame's jealous butler Edgar cat-naps Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside. What's a cat to do? Luckily Thomas O'Malley and his rag-tag bunch of Alley Cats come to their rescue! This feline adventure is sure to get you feet tapping to the hep, jazzy beat, which includes the Disney favorites "The Aristocats," "Scales and Arpeggios" and "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat."

OUR DIRECTORS:

Sarah Bailey (Go, Dog. Go! Director and Choreographer ) is a graduate of Ohio Northern University and has her Masters in Music and Pedagogy from the prestigious Westminster Choir College. Sarah has sung onstage at Carnegie Hall with the New York Philharmonic and was a grand finalist at the Guangdong International Vocal Competition in China.

Erin Bennett (AristoCats Director) ~ returns to Weathervane this summer after a fantastic run of "The Frog Prince" last summer. In addition to working within the public school system, Erin has shared her talents in set design, costuming and stage management with numerous community theatres in Bath, Cuyahoga Falls, Wadsworth and North Canton. She is currently finishing her Masters degree in Arts Administration at The University of Akron.
