COURSE TITLE: Setting the Stage: Beginning Sewing Techniques for Home

 

DAYS/HOURS: Saturdays 10am-12:00pm

FEES: $100.00

 

INSTRUCTOR: Diane Papp

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION: First in "The Importance of Being Costumed" series. Students will create simple home décor accents by learning beginning sewing techniques (machine and hand) and seam finishes, using fabrics and trims to transform any room. Students will complete a sewing technique sample notebook while working on decorative curtains, bedspreads and/or pillows. Many tips and shortcuts will be explained and demonstrated. Students will be given a list of needed supplies for the first day of class. Beginning supply cost will be approximately $60*, plus cost for desired project(s). *Students may bring in their own machines or share in-class machine.

FEES: $100.00

 

INSTRUCTOR: Diane Papp

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Second in "The Importance of Being Costumed" series. Course is designed for those with a strong beginning knowledge of machine & hand sewing basics & seam finishes, but little or no experience using a fashion pattern. Students will create an unbelievable Halloween costume of their choice using patterns and learning intermediate sewing & crafting techniques (machine and hand), fabrics, trims & props to transform themselves into "any" character. Students will complete a sewing & crafting technique sample notebook while working on their desired costume. Many tips & shortcuts will be explained and demonstrated. Supply cost will vary depending on fabric cost for desired project(s). *Students may bring in their own machines or share in-class machine.
