What: Monthly independent-film series. Six (6) screenings total. Five (5) slots remain open.
Where: Lakewood Public Library, 15425 Detroit Avenue.
When: One Monday evening per month, March 2009 through August 2009.
How: Free admission. Open to the public. Brief intro before screening, brief discussion after.
Submission Deadline: Mid-to-late September 2008. Sooner is better.

Guidelines are subject to change at any time.

Any independent filmmaker is welcome to submit one or more full-length films or short films for consideration. However, only one longer film per filmmaker will be selected. If we get enough shorts, we may do an entire evening of only shorts. Any subject matter is welcome.

Please, let me know if you have posted clips or trailers online, and tell me the URL. If no online preview is possible, please contact me so I can tell you how to submit a disc. lease, let me know the running time of your film. If you submit a disc and you want it returned, please include a stamped, addressed envelope with your submission.

I'll preview submissions, then present them to library administration for final approval.

No extreme sexual or violent content. Films don't have to be strictly "G-rated"--- just not too over the top. If you submit a film with brief instances of unacceptable material or a too-lengthy running time, we may ask you to submit an edited copy for this event. It's your call. If you submit a rough cut or an incomplete version of your film for my preview, please let me know as soon as possible what you'll be adding to the finalized version. I don't want any surprises on the night of the screening.

Brand new and older films are welcome. Filmmakers from Ohio and from everywhere are encouraged to submit. Referrals to filmmakers who I can contact are as welcome as direct submissions.

I've requested a two-hour slot for each screening. We would prefer filmmakers be available for a brief discussion with the audience after the screening of each film. However, if we select your film, we will screen it whether you attend or not.

The library administration will pay a fifty dollar ($50.00) honorarium to filmmakers whose films we select for screening at this particular program. Further, while there are no guarantees, library administration is open to purchasing no more than two copies of each film shown during this program. The price per copy must be under $100.00 (pricing films at $99.99 or any other form of gouging is discouraged). Library administration will place purchased films into circulation so library patrons may borrow and view them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please e'mail me or call me .

Sincerely,

Michael A. Miller
