Canton Cabaret Musical Dinner Theatre will present Dancin' with Our Stars:
Remembering Moonlight Ballroom on Fridays, August 15th and 22nd at the
Metropolitan Centre's Grand Ballroom, 601 Cleveland Avenue North in downtown
Canton. 

 

Tickets for dinner with show are $42.50, and show-only tickets are $25. A
10% discount applies for reservations of a table for eight. Tickets are
available by phone at 330.456.7397 and by email at
ccdtreservations at yahoo.com. Show-only tickets will also be available at the
door. Dinner reservations required at least 48 hours notice. The dinner will
be stuffed pork chops; however, vegetarian and gluten-free menu options are
available.

 

This original production features the Canton Cabaret Orchestra, a nine-piece
ensemble led by David Kolinski-Schultz, and Cabaret Repertory Company
singers, Courtney Vignos and Barry DeBois. The evening will be a celebration
of swing dancing on the beautifully refurbished 1920's ballroom floor to the
music of the Buddy Rich, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Henry Mancini, with
songs of the Big Band Era, Latin Jazz and Nouveau Swing. Patrons are
encouraged to fill the dance floor all evening as the orchestra will play
during dinner and during the performance. 

 

Moonlight Ballroom (1927 to 1979) was located in Meyers Lake Park in Canton,
Ohio and was one of the largest dance halls in the country. Included in the
performance will be a screen presentation, memorabilia and artifacts from
Meyers Lake Park. The venue is handicap accessible and offers free parking
at the door.

 

Canton Cabaret, partially funded by ArtsInStark, the county Arts Council, is
a production arm of the Rainbow Repertory Company. After these performance
dates, this production will be available for booking year-round. Please call
