Last weekend for musical “The Utter Glory of Morrissey Hall”

You have never heard of this show, right? And it lasted exactly one
performance on Broadway in the late 70s, opening and closing on the same
night. (I do have a friend who saw it in previews.)

But if anyone can take a moribund musical about a crazy girls’ school and
turn it into madcap mayhem, it is Pierre Brault.

You know how rumors fly in a girls’ school anyway, but imagine a British
girls’ school where the girls are the murderous, lascivious daughters of
Mafia dons. And the faculty have been recruited from the strangest levels
of society. And the Headmistress is ready to machinegun her students by
the end of the show—literally. Then the confetti, silly string, and
toilet paper start to fly.

The music is good—the pace is frantic—the price is right.

Anyway, only 4 more performances, Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30.
Parma HS, 6285 W. 54 St. Just take State Rd. 2 miles south from 480.
Turn right on Longwood (right after the “Last Stop Inn”). At third stop
sign turn left on W. 54 and park where you see the Mercury Summer Stock
sign on the left. Adults: $15; students and seniors $12. No credit
cards! Cash or check only.

Seats are reserved, so call ahead for tickets to get the best seats:
216-771-5862. Oh, and by the way, Wednesday night is BOGO, so 2 seats for
the price of one. Great chance to see a show you’ve never heard of.
