We are still accepting audition appointments for tomorrow, Wed. 8/27.
 
 
 
Casting Notice: "PlayActs" Performances 
  
          The WAKE UP And LIVE’s Actors’ Studio is casting for its upcoming “PlayActs” Performances which will be presented as a Benefit, Sunday, November 9, 2008, and repeated, Sunday, March 22, 2009, 3:00 P, Brooks Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, and developed as ongoing touring productions, thereafter, for corporations, colleges, business and community organizations, etc. 
  
We are excited about featuring some of greater Cleveland’s and national “grand dames” of theatre in “PlayActs.”  Maxine Brown, Mary Conley Dismuke, Jean “Granny” Hawkins, Joyce Meadows and Norma Powell, who will be showcased in an original one-act, What’s A Nice Girl Like You Doing With A Guy Like Him? by Gary Webster, (with Ruby Fox, Norma Powell and Sue Johnson). 
  
Actors may be cast in multiple &/or rotating roles and serve as understudies (similar to Repertory Theatre) in plays such as those listed below.  Stipends are planned for touring productions. 
1. The Willow Tree & The Mulch Pile: A Love Story, by Grace Butcher 
2. That Seat is Mine, by Gail Wynn Huland El 
3.  Maggie, by Lillie Marie Redwood 
4.  The Dinner Date, by Ted Schvimer 
5.  Prime Beef, by Gary Webster 
6.  Backstage Divas, a scene 
7.  Family Lines, by Peter Lawson Jones 
8.  Love Letters, by A.R. Gurney 
  
Rehearsals begin Thurs. Sept. 4th and will be held weekday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.  Tech week begins Sun. Nov. 2.  Dress Tech is scheduled for Thurs. 11/6, 
5:30 P. 
  
Actors (&/or understudies) are needed for the following roles: 
  
            1.  What’s A Nice Girl . . . by Gary Webster 
                        .  3 black females, 60+, to understudy and rotate characters 
                        .  Bert Harrison, 35+, TV talk show host 
.  Alice Kramden, Ralph Kramden’s TV wife in The Honeymooners 
.  Edith Bunker, Archie’s TV wife in All in The Family 
.  Wilma Flinstone, Fred’s TV wife in The Flinstones 
  
            2.  That Seat is Mine, by Gail Wynn Huland El 
.  2 black females, 40+ to understudy and rotate in That Seat is Mine     
      .  Dominic, 25+, black male usher 
.  Mykel, 25+, black female Usher, 
  
            3. The Dinner Date, by Ted Schvimer 
.  George, w/b  male, 40’s – 50’s. Old fashioned conservative type 
.  Phyllis, w/b female, 40’s – 50’s.  Brassy, pushy salesperson 
.  Waiter, White male, 25+ 
.  Matre D,’ Middle age. Very pompous, filled with a sense of self- 
   importance

.  Diane, white female, Late 20’s – early 30’s 
.  Jeff, white male, Late 20’s – early 30’s 
.  Eddie, w/b male, Late 20’s – early 30’s

    Two-minute monologue & read from the script
