6th Annual “JAZZ at the Rockefeller Greenhouse”
To be Held Saturday Afternoon, September 6
Free jazz concert features two jazz groups, art show and children’s
activities

The 6th annual JAZZ at the Rockefeller Greenhouse will be held on Saturday,
Sept. 6, at the City of Cleveland’s Rockefeller Park Greenhouse, 750 E 88th
St. The FREE concert, scheduled from 1 – 4:30 pm, will feature two
well-known, locally-based jazz groups, Annette Keys & Road Trip, and the
Jazz Heritage Orchestra Quintet. In case of inclement weather, a rain date
is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 7.

JAZZ’s motto is “Tour the Grounds! Dig the Sounds!” As in previous years,
the concert will be held on the facility’s main mall. Attendees are
encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. (Last year’s concert
drew about 2,400 attendees over the afternoon.)

An art show co-organized with Sankofa Fine Arts Plus featuring
Cleveland-based artists will be held as well. Other elements are free Lolly
the Trolley rides thru the Cultural Gardens, planting activities and face
painting for children in the Betty Ott Talking Garden, and a voter
registration table. Light snacks and beverages sold during the event help
support Rockefeller Greenhouse programs.

Rockefeller Greenhouse supplies the flowers and plant materials for
Rockefeller Park and other Cleveland properties, and the facility contains
three acres of outside gardens and another acre under glass. It can be
reached off Martin Luther King Drive and is just south of Rt. 90.

JAZZ is produced by H/L Communications and supported by Friends of
Greenhouse, Ward 8 Councilwoman Sabra Pierce Scott, Ward 9 Councilman Kevin
Conwell, Famicos Foundation, Cleveland State University, Call & Post, and
the City of Cleveland.
