INSIDE World Music presents one of Bulgaria's premier wedding bands,
KABILÉ on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 8 PM.  Traditional Bulgarian
folk music has attracted worldwide attention and scholarship for its
incredible virtuosity and musicianship.  Varied rhythms combine with
gorgeous harmonies, ancient instruments with modern, and traditional
styles are rendered with a modern sensibility to produce an exquisite
musical brew that is bound to enthrall roots music enthusiasts and
novices alike.  Kabile is a top favorite in the south and east Thrace
regions of Bulgaria for weddings, baptisms and other cultural
celebrations.  

Dzhenko Andreev (gajda/bagpipe), Angel Krastev (tapan/
large drum) Nikolay Doktorov (kaval/ end-blown wooden flute) , Nikolay
Kolev (gadulka/ folk fiddle), Ivan Handzhiev (accordion and vocals),
and Donka Koleva (vocals) are excellent representatives of this
traditional style.  Individually, each member of the band has an
exceptional history of scholarship and performance.  Collectively they form one of the most respected ensembles in Bulgarian Thrace.



Vocalist Donka Koleva was the featured singer in the film “Everything
is Illuminated”.  A reception with dancing to the live music of KABILÉ,
and traditional Bulgarian food and refreshments follows the concert.

Warrensville Center Rd, Shaker Heights, OH 44122.  For reservations

*** DIRECTIONS FROM THE WESTSIDE: the easiest way to get to Christ
Episcopal Church from the west and south is to take I-480 east to I-271
north, Take the CHAGRIN BLVD/ US-422 W/ OH-87 exit, (EXIT 29.)..  Turn
right on Chagrin for 2.5 miles to Warrensville.  Turn right on
Warrensville, Christ Episcopal Church is on the right.

Approximately a 30 minute drive from Lakewood.  **



*** NOTE:  DO NOT EXIT I-480 at Warrensville!  There is construction
and the road is closed just west of I-480.  this does not show up on
Mapquest.
