POSITION AVAILABLE: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF THEATER EDUCATION
The Beck Center for the Arts is one of Northeast Ohio's largest cultural
and performing arts organizations. Each year, we provide professional
theater performances and high-quality arts education for tens of
thousands of patrons and students throughout the region. We seek a
talented individual to join us in the role of Associate Director of
Theater Education.
The Associate Director of Theater Education serves as a team-oriented
member of the Education Department who is responsible for the design,
implementation and management of the theater education curriculum as
well as the production of youth theater shows; hiring, managing and
supervision of theater education faculty; overseeing the budget for all
aspects of the educational and production components of the programs,
working with and supervision of program volunteers and CAST, the parent
support organization of theater education; and interface with colleagues
to design a comprehensive program that meets the needs of the community
and is congruent with mission of the organization.
The ideal candidate would be a highly organized, creative,
detail-oriented, and energetic person with experience working with
children as a theater teacher or as a director. A Bachelor's or Master's
degree in Theater or Education with a minor in Theater or equivalent
professional experience is preferred. The possession of strong written
and verbal communication skills, strong customer service skills and the
ability to be flexible, creative and dedicated to the program is a must.
The ability to work evenings and weekend is required.
