Announces Auditions for 

"Play On!"

 

Auditions will be held Mon. Sept. 15th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Blossom Hill School Facility. on Oakes Rd. in building 5. Show dates for this production will be Nov. 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st & 22nd. Needed are a cast of 10, 3 men and 7 women. Some roles are interchangeable.

 This is the hilarious story of a theater group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty authoress who keeps revising the script. Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show, Act II is the near disastrous dress rehearsal, and the final act is the actual performance in which anything that can go wrong does. When the authoress decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a madcap climax to a thoroughly hilarious romp. Even the sound effects reap their share of laughter.

The roles call for Henry & Polly Benish (a couple in their mid 50's)

 Marla "Smitty" Smith (a pretty - but - awkward girl of about 17)

Saul Watson (a thin man of about 45)

Billy Carewe (an athletic looking young man of spirit about 25)

Violet Imbry (a pretty face behind which medical science may someday discover a pretty brain, about 22)

Other characters are Aggie Manville (stage manager & prompter), Geraldine "Gerry" Dunbar (a community theatre director), Louise Peary (a sound & lighting & scenic technician) and Phyllis Montague (a novice playwright in the community). These roles can vary in age and are roles that can be interchanged.
