Make-up and Hair Designer

Harvey S. Firestone High School in Akron, Ohio, is now accepting
applications for a Make-up and Hair Designer for the 2008-09 theatre
season and school year. The position reports to and works closely with
the theatre director on the designing, planning and implementing
designs for multi-cultural, educational theatrical production. This
position will be responsible for setting an appropriate work schedule
and recruiting and supervising a student crew. This position will also
work closely with a student-centered technical theatre board.

Firestone Theatre is a highly respected, pre-professional theatre
education program.

This is a part-time position with flexible hours generally scheduled
for weekdays between the hours of 3:30 and 7:00 p.m.

The available pay for this position demands that it be filled with an
entry-level or near entry-level designer.

Starts almost immediately.



Production Schedule
The Make-up / Hair Designer will plan a work schedule with approval of
theatre director for each production that culminates with the first
technical rehearsal. The 2008-09 schedule follows:

	(1) A Soldier's Play by Charles Fuller – technical rehearsal: Sunday,
September 28, 2008

	(2) Stage Door by Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman – technical
rehearsal: Sunday, November 16, 2008

	(3) The Producers book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan – technical
rehearsal: Sunday, March 1, 2009



Details of Compensation
The Make-up / Hair Designer will:
  be paid a mutually agreeable per-show stipend as a community
resource seasonal employee
  be paid by the Firestone Theatre Parent Booster Group (called
FCDTA/Stage Parents) and will, therefore, not technically be an
employee of Harvey S. Firestone High School or the Akron Board of
Education.
  not be eligible for any fringe benefits
