Actors' Summit Announces
New $7 Student Tickets
Eliminating the Financial Barrier to Professional Theater

Actors' Summit, the Equity professional Theater in Hudson, has announced
that, as of the opening of their new season on September 18, all
students will be admitted to any performance of any play at Actors'
Summit for $7, less than the price of movie ticket. The offer includes
K-12 students and full-time college students.

"The support of some of our most progressive foundations enables us to
make this exciting announcement," said MaryJo Alexander, co-artistic
director. The foundations supporting the new project include: the GAR
Foundation, the OMNOVA Solutions Foundation, the Sisler McFawn
Foundation, the R.C. Musson and Katharine M. Musson Charitable
Foundation, and the Lloyd L. & Louise K. Smith Memorial Foundation.

"Participation in the arts improves student achievement - a fact
established by rigorous scientific research," said Neil Thackaberry,
co-artistic director. "We also know that arts classes and experiences
are the first to be cut by schools when money gets tight. Few students
today have the benefit of the arts experiences enjoyed by their parents
and grandparents."

The $7 tickets are not "rush" tickets. Students can call and purchase
tickets in advance just as members of the general public can.

Daytime Performances
The $7 price also applies to students and teachers who take advantage of
special school day matinees at Actor's Summit. "This makes Actors'
Summit the least expensive option for school districts and teachers who
want to make professional theater part of their students' education,"
said Chase Horn, director of development at the theater.

Performance Schedule
The first production of the new season will be Main-Travelled Roads
which will have a preview performance on September 18. The official
opening on Friday, September 19 will be followed by a reception with the
cast. Regular performances continue through October 5, Thursdays,
Fridays & Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Following each
performance, there will be an opportunity for the audience to discuss
the play with members of the cast.

Tickets
Tickets are $28 on Fridays & Saturdays, $25 on Thursdays & Sundays. All
full time students with ID are $7 at all performances. Seniors receive a
$3 discount at all regular Thursday and Sunday performances. Season
