AUDITIONS FOR OPERA CLEVELAND CHORUS AND EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

Opera Cleveland and Chorus Master, C. M. Shearer, will hold auditions
for chorus and education programs [paid positions] for its upcoming 2009
season on the following dates and times:
Friday, Nov. 14, 4:00 pm-10:00 pm
Saturday, Nov. 15, 10:00 am-9:00 pm

Productions

Il Barbiere di Siviglia: The State Theater, Playhouse Square
Performance Dates: Mar. 27, 29 and Apr. 4, 2009
Chorus Music Rehearsals: February 24, 27 and 28, 2009. Location TBD.

Staging Rehearsals:  March 1, 2009 THROUGH March 25, 2009

Fallstaff: The State Theater, Playhouse Square
Performance Dates: June 19, 21 and 27, 2009
Chorus Music Rehearsals: May 19, 22 and 23, 2009. Location TBD.
Staging Rehearsals:   May 24, 2009 THROUGH June 17, 2009

Don Giovanni: The State Theater, Playhouse Square
Performance Dates: Oct. 30, Nov. 1 and 7, 2009
Chorus Music Rehearsals: Sept. 30, Oct. 4 and 7, 2009. Location TBD.
Staging Rehearsals:   Oct. 9, 2009 THROUGH Oct. 28, 2009

Projects

GREAT WORKS STUDENT PROGRAMS
Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Don Giovanni
Opera Cleveland Artists perform/teach short programs that prepare
students and teachers for the student matinee they are attending.
Artists must have daytime availability. Rehearsals and performances run
for approximately 4 weeks prior to the final dress rehearsal of each
production. Travel, per diem, and fees are paid.

Audition Procedures

*	Auditions. All interested persons must audition.  Everyone must
sing two contrasting selections of your choice, each of approximately 2
minutes in length, with a least one in Italian. The other selection may
be an opera or oratorio aria, or an art song. An accompanist will be
provided.  

*	Location.  Auditions will be held in the Green (east) Rehearsal
Room of the State Theatre at Playhouse Square.  Please enter through the
State Theatre Stage Door, 1650 Chester Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115.  

*	Auditions are by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment
or request an application call Opera Cleveland's Production Department
at (216) 575-0903 x 211. Audition Applications can also be downloaded
from our website: www.operacleveland.org.  Please send completed
applications along with a resume and headshot/ snapshot to the opera
