October 16 - November 8

(Paid Previews October 16th and 17th, Opening Night October 18th)

CPT opens the 2008-2009 season with the world premiere of Goldstar,
Ohio, a new play by Cleveland native Michael Tisdale. This exciting new
work tells the stories of the families of 22 Marines from the 325
Battalion based in Brook Park, Ohio who lost their lives in Anbar
Province, Iraq in 2005. Goldstar, Ohio is a work of non-fiction created
from transcripts of interviews with the families of the fallen Marines.
The lives of the young men are remembered and celebrated through the
memories and words of four central Ohio families who invited Tisdale
into their homes.

Goldstar, Ohio sheds light on the unforeseen and often hidden
consequences of war on personal relationships and on the national
consciousness. CPT believes in the role of theatre to promote awareness
and to create dialogue on important social issues and the production of
Goldstar, Ohio works toward this goal. Goldstar, Ohio is directed by
nationally recognized Andy Paris, an original member of the Tectonic
Theatre Project, who was an original cast member of The Laramie Project
and collaborator on Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde.

Featuring Bob Goddard, Dana Hart*, Jill Levin, Anne McEvoy, Sarah
Marcus, Casey Spindler, Justin Tatum and Chuck Tisdale
