Hudson Players Announce Cast of “Accomplice” 

Sure to Amuse and Fool Mystery Comedy to be Presented in November

The Hudson Players are pleased to announce the cast of the fun, inventive
mystery/comedy Accomplice, written by Rupert Holmes. A play so unique,
clever and enjoyable in fact, that it was honored by the Mystery Writers of
America with its “Edgar” (Allen Poe) Award, the “Oscar” of the mystery
field. Unfortunately, there is not much more to be told because almost any
specific description of plot, characters or themes will spoil some of the
fun. And there is plenty of fun to be had in this play, so why destroy any

After all, we could tell you all about the plot twists and other surprises
that leave the audience gasping, but then I'd have to kill you. Or would we?
"Accomplice" takes you down any number of twisted paths, trying to figure
out how Holmes is going to work his way out of the maze into which he takes
the audience. 


Accomplice is being directed by Claudia Lillibridge and features Denise
Bernstein as Janet, Darlene Rocco as Melinda, Mitch Manthey as Derek and
Doug Lillibridge as Jon.


As one critic summed it up “Thriller? Sure. Suspense? Yes. Comedy? Plenty.
Sex? Definitely. But does that necessarily mean anybody is having thrilling
and suspenseful sex while laughing? Maybe.” This is once mystery you don’t
want to miss, but reserve early otherwise the group warns that it will be
murder getting tickets.

And for those of you who are wondering, yes Holmes is that Rupert Holmes,
the one who regrets he is mostly famous for a little song he wrote about
piña coladas ["The Pina Colada Song"]. But he is also a playwright, having
tossed out convention with his Tony Award-winning 1986 musical, The Mystery
of Edwin Drood and a number of other shows.
