Regional and Ohio Premiere

ABOUT THE PLAY: "Sex to change the course of the world..." In Boom,
something is about to explode and the fate of humanity hangs in the
balance. CPT presents the regional premiere of this exciting work that
premiered at Ars Nova in NYC in March 2008. In this hilarious new work,
female journalism student Jo answers male marine biologist Jules'
casual- encounters ad seeking "intensely significant coupling." She gets
stuck in his makeshift lab-turned-shelter and finds herself surrounded
by bourbon, fish tanks and a bunch of scary levers. It's the end of the
world as we know it and this is the date to end all dates! 

Looking to cast the following roles:

 

Jules: Male, marine biology grad student; late 20's - early 40's

Jo: Female, undergraduate journalism student, 20's

Barbara: Female, natural history docent, 30's - late 40's

 

Equity agreements may be considered for this production

 

Auditions will be held on the following times:


Sunday, September 28th:    5:00pm - 10:00pm
Monday, September 29th:    6:00pm - 10:00pm

If necessary, callbacks will be held on Tuesday, September 30th from
6:00pm - 10:00pm.

Auditions are by appointment only and will be scheduled in 1 hour
increments. Actors may prepare a brief comedic, contemporary monologue
(not to exceed two minutes) but the audition will mainly consist of cold
readings from the script. Auditions will take place on the CPT campus,
located at W. 65th and Detroit Ave. on the near west side. For

Rehearsals for Boom begin October 22nd with performances in the James
Levin Theatre November 28th through December 20th. Performances are
Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
