Tournees Film Festival
Contemporary French cinema this fall at Lakeland
 
The TOURNEES Film Festival is free and open to the public and will feature five contemporary French films, one each Friday in October, at Lakeland Community College, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, Ohio, 44094, screenings are at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Building H Room 101.

Friday, October 3• Persepolis 
Rated PG-13: mature themes, viewer discretion advised.
Persepolisis the poignant story of a 9-year-old girl, Marjane, coming of age in Iran during the Islamic Revolution. We see a people’s hopes dashed as fundamentalists take power - forcing the veil on women and imprisoning thousands. 
Friday, October 10• The Terror’s Advocate 
Rated NR - mature themes and scenes of violence, viewer discretion advised.
Director and writer, Barbet Schroeder, takes us down history’s darkest paths in his attempt to illuminate the mystery behind the enigmatic figure of Jacques Vergès. The filmmaker explores and questions the history of ‘blind terrorism’ and leads us towards shocking revelations that expose long-hidden links in history. 
Friday, October 17• La Vie en Rose 
Rated PG-13: mature themes, viewer discretion advised.  
A swirling, impressionistic portrait of an artist who regretted nothing, La vie en Rose stars the Academy Award winning performance from Marion Cotillard as the legendary French icon Edith Piaf. From the mean streets of the Belleville district of Paris to the dazzling limelight of New York’s most famous concert halls, Piaf’s life was a constant battle to sing and survive.

Rated NR: mature themes, some nudity, viewer discretion advised.  
Alex, a pediatrician, has been devastated since his wife Margot, was savagely murdered eight years ago. One day he receives an anonymous email: when he clicks on the inserted link, he sees a woman’s face standing in a crowd, being filmed live. Is she still alive? 
Friday, October 31• The Page Turner 
NR - mature themes, viewer discretion advised. 
A well-built psychological thriller, The Page Turner is a story of revenge. Two women come face-to-face with the reality of their relationship at the piano.
