FishCreek, family folk and bluegrass band, invites you to two no-cost
performances - Saturday October 11th and Sunday October 12th - at
Beckwith's Apple Orchard and Cider Mill Gift Shop (in Kent, OH) from
1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon.
There'll be free face painting during both FishCreek shows.
Beckwith's Apple Orchard, located at 1617 Lake Rockwell Road near Lake
Street/Brady Lake Road, is a family-owned orchard in its fifth
generation. Its wood floors are perfect for stompin' and dancin' with
the band! Beckwith's also has plenty of hot cider, a $2.00 corn maze,
homemade pie by the slice, and home-grown apples by the peck.
More on FishCreek:
FishCreek is a four-piece family band featuring special guests - the
talented father and daughter team of Mark and Andrea Bussinger.
Heading up FishCreek is father guitarist/vocalist Bruce Taylor,
Ph.D., a professor of biomedical and electrical engineering. He has
been playing folk music since the late 50's. As a member of the
Cleveland-based trio The Highlanders, he appeared live on the Mike
Douglas Show in 1960. Daughter vocalist/upright bassist Lynne Taylor
is a poet and musician who began writing her own music at the age of
fourteen. Lynne has played professionally throughout New England and
the Midwest. Lynne released self-produced album, Grace, in 1996. Son,
vocalist/banjo, guitarist, Daniel H. Taylor is a carpenter and actor
(Cleveland Public Theatre, Ohio Shakespeare Festival, Actor's Summit,
Bang and Clatter). Youngest daughter, vocalist Katy (Taylor) Beaucham
is environmental hygienist working for NIOSH in Cincinnati.
FishCreek's vocal harmonies set apart their gospel numbers and down-
home good-time folk as well as original songs like 'Redneck Jedi' and
'Roundhouse.' The traditional sound of Fishcreek reminds us of our
history and the history of Folk Music.
