[NEohioPAL] "Zombies from the Beyond" continues at AAC

The 1950s sci-fi musical-comedy spoof,  "Zombies from the Beyond," continues
this weekend at the Ashtabula Arts Center, 2928 W. 13th St. Ashtabula.
Curtain is at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and there is a Sunday matinee
which starts at 2 p.m.

 

The musical tells the story of mankind's first encounter with alien beings,
who decide to land in Milwaukee to round up some men to take back to their
all-women planet. The cast includes Curtiss Barron (the stalwart Major
Malone), Bill Baker (the sly and oily Rick Jones), Marti Dixon (Charlene
"Charlie" Osmanski, the man-hungry secretary),  Matt Anderson (the
tap-dancing delivery boy, Billy), Andrea Tredent (the winsome and genius
heroine, Mary Malone), Doug Anderson (the handsome and genius leading man,
Trenton Corbett) and Linda Fundis as the comically overdone Diva from the
Great Beyond, Queen Zombina. The show is a fast-moving experience that
includes the cheesy special effects characteristic of a 1950s sci-fi movie,
a host of very catchy and hilarious songs and some truly memorable stage
moments.

 

Despite some double entendres, the play is suitable for the entire family.
